A Travellerspoint blog

Packing and flying – booze and pills included

A journey of a man travelling the U.S without a care for grammar, punctuation and at times spelling.

Well I wasn’t going to do a blog cause I’m such a man about town but circumstances have it that I sat in traffic on California 1 due to a car accident 4 cars ahead of me so I used the time wisely.

The night before I flew I probably only slept 2 hours as I wanted to make myself extra tired to beat jetlag once I landed. It also gave me time to pack and organize things as I guess I was a little unorganized.

I got an uber to the airport, which was mostly fine until he tried to give me flying advice. I told him I was an anxious flyer to which he responded, “I can be sometimes, I just think how can this piece of metal fly in the sky and not crash” The dude should stick to uber driving rather than pep talks. n the line up to check in I was already sussing out who I did not want in my row which was a waste of time as in the end I go a row to myself.

Knowing I had to drive I got in 3 quick gin & tonics but stopped at the third as it was Trex strong. It was hard to knock back free Hendricks but I did it (maybe the trex is dead). As I didn’t want to sleep straight away due to the fact I wanted to run my body clock on American time I decided to watch a movie. It only seemed fitting giving my love for the Paleo way of life and the fact I was coming to the land of sugar and grease that I watched “That sugar movie”.
3 pills and 8 hours of sleep later I only had 2 hours till landing. Obviously landed safely so all in all it was a good flight.
